The Hudson Valley Jazz Ensemble
The first performance of this year’s festival is the Hudson Valley Jazz Ensemble. The group consists of a revolving set of local bass, trumpet, saxophone, piano, and vocals. They’ve been performing since 2011 and are regulars of the Hudson Valley festival. Their local flavor makes them the perfect start to the weekend’s festivities.
Neil Alexander & Nail
Neil Alexander & Nail has been making music for over 20 years. Over the years, the band has progressed from a pungent punk rock duo to a five-person rocking jazz ensemble. The band’s funky, foot-stomping tunes are sure to make for an exciting night at the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival.
Judi Silvano’s Zephyr Trio
Judi Silvano brings her beautiful, Brooklyn raspiness to the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival this year. Silvano boasts 14 records including one on the renowned Blue Note Label. She’ll be traveling west with her posey, the Zephyr Trio. Get ready to sing your heart out with this amazing performance.
The Robert Kopec Project
The Robert Kopec Project has been delivering vivacious performances to The Wherehouse throughout the summer. If you haven’t had a chance to catch one of their shows yet, you’ll want to add them to your Hudson Jazz Festival bucket list. The group are Upstate natives and will keep you soothed with their cello, flute, and vocal performances.
Tani Tabbal Trio
“What’s traditional in jazz is the point of change,” preaches the jazz drummer, Tani Tabbal. That’s right, a jazz drummer. If you love traditional funky jazz, you will adore the sounds of Tani Tabbal and his trio. The final act of the festival proves that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Come out to his one-of-a-kind show for the perfect end to your music-filled weekend.
