Live at the Falcon

The Falcon is an intimate venue in Marlboro, NY providing a one-of-a-kind experience. The main building dates from the 19th century and overlooks the picturesque scenery of Marlboro Falls and surrounding woods.

Inside on the upper level, you’ll find a stage where a variety of world-class music performances occur, from jazz to folk to rock and beyond. The best part is that it is completely free! No cover charge or tickets are required to come out and enjoy some great music.

You’ll also see all kinds of colorful and creative art decorating the walls. These are works of local artists from the Hudson Valley and New York, and make up a functional art gallery that has new exhibitions every few months. Find one you really love, and you just might be able to purchase it from the artist!

The Falcon Restaurant

In addition to supporting an excellent live music scene, the Falcon serves up delicious bites and fantastic libations for your enjoyment. Any time a show is playing, the kitchen and bar are in operation. The Falcon takes care to source its food from local, sustainable farms, ensuring top-notch quality. The barroom was made with completely recycled materials, with the bar itself having a past life as a shuffleboard! And, when the weather is nice, you can enjoy al fresco dining while taking in the lovely views.

If you’re not a big fan of staying out late but still enjoy live music, you’re in luck! The Falcon also hosts brunch every Sunday, which features live music just as the evenings do. The Sunday brunch menu features a variety of options, and the quality of the food has won many fans, travelers and locals alike.

The Falcon Underground

The lower level of the Falcon is the newest addition to the venue. The Falcon Underground offers an experience just as unique, if not more, than the one you will find upstairs. Step inside and discover a New York Taproom + Beer Garden, more live music, a music museum, and a space to enjoy more food and drinks both indoors and outdoors.

The space downstairs is welcoming, with rustic hardwood floors and a warm atmosphere. The walls are adorned with rare and obscure photos and posters, part of the Avalon Archives—a museum of Roots and Rock & Roll. As with the food and drink you will find on the upper floor, the fare and libations at the Falcon Underground are sourced as much as possible from local sources. At the bar, you’ll find quality, local small-batch beers, spirits, and wines.

As with Live at the Falcon, the Falcon Underground features live music performances, with different genres every week.

In all, the Falcon is a true hidden gem, and if you’re a fan of music, you’d be remiss not to stop by.
