The Hudson Valley Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze: What You Need to Know
The Hudson Valley Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze
The Hudson Valley Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze lights up the Van Cortlandt Manor each year with spectacular displays of all things pumpkin. If you’re a fan of Halloween, you won’t want to miss this unique event.
Stroll through an 18th-century riverside landscape in the historic Hudson Valley aglow with glittering jack o’lanterns at the 2018 Hudson Valley Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Marvel at incredible displays constructed by local artists. Each pumpkin you see has been hand-carved by a team of professional artists with the help of over 1,000 volunteers.
One of the main attractions, the pumpkin blaze, features synchronized lights, sound effects, and an original soundtrack. These come together with the creatively carved and illuminated pumpkins to create a spectacular show.
In addition to the Hudson Valley pumpkin blaze, there will be a Pumpkin Promenade and a Pumpkin Zee bridge adorned with numerous grinning and grimacing jack o’lanterns. Crane your neck as you look up at the jack o’lantern Statue of Liberty glowing brightly in the sky. Last but not least, make sure to get a glimpse of the whirling, glimmering Pumpkin Carousel, complete with skeletal horses!
Tickets for the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze go on sale starting September 4th, with the event happening from September 28th – November 24th. All proceeds from the pumpkin blaze (and other Halloween events organized by the Historic Hudson Valley) benefit the programs of the Historic Hudson Valley’s non-profit education organization
